For those that like predatory Catfish, Tiger Shovelnoses are a must! If my internet coneection could handle it, I would send a picture of Mefisto, my 15cm shovelnose. Contrary to research I have done, shovelnoses will eat tablet and dried foods in addition to chunks of meat and fish.
Mefisto lives happily with an oscar, a Striped Talking Catfish, a large Three-spot gourami and 2 silver dollars.
Shovelnoses are striking when kept in subtle lighting and with driftwood. They also look great in planted tanks, but my current setup doesn't allow for this at all.
Two to three feet in length for the fish so I'd say unless you're like the Canadian guy with a 50k gallon tank you probably don't have a big enough one.

I don't know. You could probably keep one in a 2000 gallon tank. I saw one around here on craigslist last year - 12'x6'x4'deep - dual 16" overflows mid tank.
Yeah he is currently in a 100g tank but we have a pond and a warm climate so thats where he will go in time. Mostly eats gambusia affinis that breed like the livebearing fish they are.
