Strange Air Gulping Behavior with Albino Cory

Hi everyone,

I have an albino cory, who I've had for about 6 months now with no problems. But lately, when he comes up for breaths of air, he acts a little funny.

Normally, my cory cats will be swimming along the bottom of the tank, then shoot straight up to the surface, tag the air once, then shoot back down.

This one shoots up, then swims around the surface of the water for a few seconds, taking multiple gulps of air! It looks a little erratic and I'm wondering if there's something wrong with his mouth or something. Is he having trouble getting the air? Is this common behavior?

Note that all of his other behavior has been completely normal. He's swimming and eating normally. And this behavior has been going on for over a month now without worsening. I just want to make sure it's not a known problem.

He may be nibbling on the microfilm on the surface

I have cories that do that, they tend to nibble the roots of my floaters as well
