somthing wrong with cory cat

hes not swimming right, and I dotn know whats going on. I just tested the water everything is good. ammonia might be 1 level high on api test card I think its like 0.25. I keep the temp right around 82. just recently the guy who takes care of my tanks tank in his office said to get copper safe and just put it in the tank once a month or any time adding new fish in case they have something going on.

I got a video of the corry swimming im bad at describing so hopefully the video helps.

I would lower the temperature slowly to around 74f. I can't see the video so I do not know what species you have but none the less 82f is too high. You will want to only lower the temp 1 or 2 degrees a day as a big change will stress the fish even more. Cory can take a big drop in temp but with an already stressed fish I would lower it slowly. Copper safe is for external parasites, are the fish flashing?(rubbing on the substrate.)

I looked at the video, African Cichlids don't mix with cories. Are you adding any kind of salt mix to increase the hardness of the water? This is likely the cause plus the stress of constant attacks. You shouldn't lower the temp as the cichlids will then be negatively effected. Just looks like a bad fish mix. If you want catfish look into synodontis cats.

ohh okay. I know some cat fish are good with Africans. at least the 2 types my chiropractor has wont touch the cats. they sort of look like silver sharks. I forget the name. I know there around $17 though.

no not adding any salt but I am having a problem with keeping ph at 8.2. to save from spending $100 at lfs buying their rocks I got my own from my dad. but since I added the rocks and increased water temp it seems like the corys are more active, and look they are on some kind of drug that has them wired up going all over the place real fast.

Im not up on my African Cichlids as its been close to 10 years since I have had them and have never used the coral rock to keep the hardness high. I used to use Seachem Malawi Buffer or Seachem Tanganyika Buffer depending on the tank/fish. Worked great for me and I am not one to use water additives. Maybe someone on the Cichlid board can suggest a Synodontis species. The only one that I know for sure is Synodontis petricola.
