LFS had him labeled as a Butterfly Pleco. I was in a bit of a hurry as 2 guppies had fry and I needed some help with the tank. He is doing a good job. I want to make sure he is housed properly. When looking at pictures of Butterfly Plecos none seem to look like him. Any thoughts? He is around 2 - 2.5 inches long. Has two lil horn "things" you can see in the first pic.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks!!! I think your right. He does look a lot like the ones I googled. Right now he is in a 10 gallon female/fry tank. It has high lights and lots of floating plants. The algae was pretty bad, and since they were being fed so often I needed some help. He is a huge help now! I'll have to rethink my plans with him thou. I don't have room for him full grown. My 55 gallon houses a BG Knife fish that I'm afraid would get sucked on.

Thanks again for helping me Id him!!!

I had purchased two feather fin cats awhile back, so small, so cute.... turned out to be murders. They fought and killed almost everything in my community tank. It was hard to tell who it was, cuz the bodies were always all gone... the khuli loaches make a good clean up crew. Bite marks on one fish and reading (not going by what the LFS said) lead me to them. I was just nervous I'd end up with a repeat.

yea I had 2 oscars in my 75 gal and the pleco killed one when they were younger. Now I feed my pleco and my oscar to keep them content and they leave each other alone.
