small corys for a 10g...

maybe im just searching for the wrong things.....

I have a 10g with a single extremely docile male betta, with driftwood, some fake ambulia, and real java moss. I would love to add a small shoal of cories to the tank but im not sure which of the "pygmy" cories i should be searching for. I know there are a few dwarf sized cories, but which would be best suited to a tank like that?

I think it was Corydoras habrosus is the one i was thinking of that stays at the bottom... but there is very little info about them around the net. I just dont want to go with pygmaeus or hastatus because what I read is they hover in midwater, which im guessing would piss my betta off eventually...

Pandas would probably be ok in a 10.

For 10g I'd pick a school of either Corydoras trilineatus (the 1's in my aggravate pic here) OR Corydoras habrosus.

i have trilineatus in my 55g, just didnt think the betta would like such big feesh to live with. plus, there isnt alot of floor space :/

Big? Mine grew to be a lil over 1" that's about as small as you'll get it for a cory.

Other idea would be shrimp with the Betta if you like shrimp?

got some generic "cory cats" as per the label on the tank, but I think they are sterbae. could be wrong, ill try to get pictures for ID purposes :) if they out grow the 10 i still have a 55 they can go in!

You mean sterbai cory? They're easy to ID they look a lot like the trilineatus with the dotted lines along the sides of the body; just all fins with the sterbai are longer.

no i mean Corydoras sterbai who's common name is Sterba's cory, the E seems to be a "you say potato i say potahto" kinda thing :P

as for the trilineatus i just saw some last night at my LFS that were no lie 2 - 2.5" and FAT. they were monsters!

Dang trilineatus on steroids or WHAT!?
