Thanks guys! Yep I love my pandas lol. He was looking ill for awhile, long before I went away last week. Guess it was only a matter of time. All the others look okay. Plus 3 babies are swimming around now. Hope some of them survive to adulthood.

R.I.P.

I lost my tiny peppered cory yesterday. He was on the bottom and would be flipped on his side, then i would go to take him out thinking he was dead, and he would swim away. Then the same thing would happen again.

Corydoras do sometimes "faint." In both your cases, they sadly died. But sometimes a cory will just lie on its side (or back) looking like it's dead, but you will see it is still respirating. Leave it alone, and it will (usually) right itself and continue normally after several minutes. I have had this occur, and have read about it. One of my present three pandas did this back in March I think it was; he's still fine, and I haven't seen it again--but maybe when I'm not looking... the little rascals.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
