Well, Josh, you have to ignore this thread. Everything has already been covered. I can't just close this thread right away without the request from a thread starter. As there are no problems here other than off-topic discussions like cooking the catfish, then I can't just close it.

Well, we all know Dawn is very serious with what she is doing. Actually, she can give you stern talking for chattering about cooking a pet fish. And anything else which involves the fish being a goner.

I'm not against fishing entirely... we need it to control populations on certain species... in the summer, I go fishing too. I enjoy feeding the worms to the fish, quite often I can get them all to come up and eat from my hand... hhhmmm... I guess that doesn't quite qualify me, huh?
Last summer my husband and daughter went fishing with me at our local quarry. They caught the small panfish while I fed the fish to a blue heron that spent about 2 hrs with us near the shore. By the time some people came along and scared the bird away, I had him coming about 2 ft from me and taking the fish from my hand. I can't ignore fish as a food source, but this thread was a little beyond that... left my stomach feeling unsettled.
I can't help myself... I just love the fish.

I'm right there with you Dawn. I love my fish. The way I get to keeping fish, though was growing up on a lake and catching them. The ones worth eating we'd eat and the little one's we'd keep in pens or in a flooded boat for a little while to watch. (Mind you, I was very young. My mom and I netted a 2' largemouth bass when I was 2.)

I also love to cook, and I can see that coming across as pretty darn morbid in this context. So sorry for the offputing - but I think it does show that this is not an aqarium fish in the least.
