Question about a rubber lip pleco

I had always heard and been told that plecos are great community fish and are allege eaters. Well my rubber lip pleco "attacked" my African Dwarf Frog! He chased my frog around and then landed on him at was sucking on his head! Is this normal pleco behavior? Did it actually hurt the frog? Should I remove the pleco? Thanks for your help!

In what manner? There are several plecs that are known to suck the slime coat even of the Discus and angelfish. The way they suck can be derived in the development of their taste for slime coat or mucous membrane. Victims will easily be stressed and render vulnerable to diseases particularly skin diseases. Separate your pleco from the frog.

my pleco does this to my frog all the time, especially wen they r fighting over food! the frog gives as good as he gets tho and never seems stressed! my frogs seem to always sit underneath my plec and hes quite big too so they cant b scared of him!

I'd watch for this. I've got an Oto that always attaches to my dwarf gouramis, but only when they are fighting over an algae wafer. Soon as the gourami vacates, the oto goes back to the food. Otherwise, they are peaceful to each other.

he dont do it aggressively i think its only wen he swims over the frog and stops, i dont think he actually sucks him most times only at dinner time
