I have 6 Pygmy Cories and 8 Neon Tettras (sometimes they all school together!). My Pygmy Cories seem to be hiding ALL the time and if they're not, they'll hide when I come up to the glass. I read somewhere that they'll be more secure in a group of 10 or more but I don't have anymore room for more. I have plenty of plants, rocks, and a wood stump with holes in it. I'm just wondering if there's any specific way to set up the tank that will make them feel more secure? Should I add some kind of grass or something?

my trilineatus cories never come out, but if I sit there for a minute or two they will come out while im sitting there. My peppered cories in my 110g are always out and about unless im feeding, then they hide until im gone.

I wouldnt worry about it, they just need a moment to adjust to your presence... seems perfectly common :)

Generally the more hiding places you have (by way of plants, caves, decoration such as wood etc) the more secure they will feel. it's a sort of catch 22 situation. If you have plenty of hiding places for them they feel secure and tehrefore no need to hide, if there's very little for them to hide in they'll be nervous and hide wherever possible. Perhaps you could try adding more plants and decoration to give them a bit more security?
