I'm sure there are no fish wholesalers...there are distributers and breeders. Distributers usually get their stock from breeders. Distributers may give you a break of fish if you buy, like 100 or so.

Youre best bet are breeders. Some through RAOK, will give you discounts and such, especially if you are a repeat customer. Best way is just to go to forums and post: WTB L-81 or whatever pleco you want.

Not every place sells every kind of fish, this is why you just have to do your own work.

But their has to be someone who buys hundreds of plecos to sell on? Does anyone know any distributors?

I'm sure. Those are probably big name pet stores. Even the biggest LFS/LPS doesn't sell more than 10 plecos of one kind, that I've seen.

You're best bet is contact exporters from where the fish are being shipped from, like Singapore. Again, you would have to buy probably like 100 fish. Then you have to calculate the shipping costs and duties. More than likely, these places will not sell you a larger amount UNLESS they know you will be constantly buying more fish from them. Like they would probably want you to buy like 100 fish every few months or so.

I know you're trying to get a good price on plecos, but the best places you can get them are from other breeders.

Hi Fiona,
Actually he's planning to breed them. A pair of breeding plecs in each 30-55 gallons tank is his plan with about 8 tanks on his shopping list.
