the pattern doesnt match the blobs of lighter color are joined up giving an almost striped/zig zag look

i was kinda thinking that, but as 4 the loo1 it has a spotted set of fins no matter what, yes some of the spots can be joined into each other on the body but not the fins, this fish has the Zig Zag pattern on the Dorsal
(most Gibbys iv seen are spotted but in a diff way 2 the loo1)

his fins are down at the moment as hes eating but all the fins including the tail have the same patterning as the body ill try and lure them out and get some more pictures at some stage

pattern is not the be all and end all in pleco id, and as with humans there will individual variation across a species.

i have just been looking at PC and it could possibly be either

i am also fairly confident that if you post it on thier forum they will tell you which it is if identification is possible without a collection point (or that of the original parents as it may have been commercially bred)

looks bodily the same i know plecos vary ive had/have 2 commons ones near on black/brown the other was a sort of brown/grey color its not imperative i get an exact id just that i know im not going to end up with a monster + would be nice to put a name to the face so to speak :D
