"Pleco" is a name applied to many different species in the Lorricariidae family. They're all armored catfish with suckermouths. If your fish doesn't have a suckermouth it's not a "pleco".

They can be quite aggressive towards each other depending on species and tank size, I wouldn't personally get another until I knew a little more about that particular species, I have an idea but I'm not 100% what species it is so I'm not going to guess. They're best kept alone really.

BTW just to scare you a bit I had a hi finned Pleco that was nearly two feet long and was almost a foot wide at the pectoral fins...good luck

Most will grow at least 10 inches and produce double the bioload of a fish of their size, meaning a 10 inch pleco would need ~20 gallons of water. Unless you have 40 gallons and no other fish, i would wait to find otu what species you have before getting another. Also they eat algae as their main diet, if you do not have a lot of algae growth, they will eat your plants. Then they will starve, most dont reach max size because they starve, be prepared to start feeding algae wafers when the algae in your tank is gone.
