Pl*co ids please

So I am interested in a small pleco. I took a trip to my LFS and got some pics of the ones they had in stock. This place is notorious for mislabeling fish so I wanted to get opinions from you guys. Some may very well be correctly labeled but its rare haha. I dunno how many times I corrected them on the corys. Also I wanna do my research so I know their dietary needs,as I know there are very many kinds of plecs. Some need wood, some dont. Carnivore, omnivore, herbivore. Very important information to know. Plus if I do decide on one,Id like to have what it needs already.

same tank as above

Just labeled Pl*co

Same tank as above

10 gallon male betta
12 gallon QT
30 gallon

First photo appears to be Rubber lip pleco and third photo is I believe Clown pleco.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

That's what I was thinking also.

150 Gallon - Mostly American Cichlids
135 Gallon - Angelfish Community
75 Gallon - Odd couple (Polleni/Angelfish)
55 Gallon - African tank
20 Gallon Long - QT
10 Gallon - Empty

awesome thanks! So do you think the 2nd photo is a juvenile clown or something else? B/c it is in the same tank as the 3rd photo that you said is a clown.

Could be Candy stripe pleco (second photo)or could indeed be a larger clown pleco. Am near certain the third photo is Clown pleco.
Clown Plecos absolutely need wood in the aquarium as it forms a considerable portion of the fishes diet and they are not as proficient at eating algae as the Rubber lip.
The Clown pleco is also not a fish that will be seen a lot as they much prefer to move about after dark.
Kept one for about three years and maybe saw it a half dozen times.

Thanks 1077. I went to a different lfs and found bristlenose plecos. So I had to get one. From what I read about the others,bn seemed like a better choice. He/she discovered the mopani wood I put in the tank, yay. I am soaking/boiling this other nice big piece I found for when he gets to the big tank. My debate now is,the 20 long or the 38?? I am thinking 38 just because it is taller so some more room to roam for him. Plus there is some brown algae in there. Not much in my 20,well at least not visible to me.
