Pangasius Catfish

Hello, I have a pangasius catfish or an iridescent shark in my 110 fresh water aquarium and he doesnt really do much. I read that they should be constantly on the move but mine seems to just chill out on the bottom of the tank. He doesnt have a problem getting spooked when i turn the lights on but he seems to be moving around only when i turn the light on and he then goes to the bottom and stays there. He has been in the tank for about 2 months and is about 5 or 6 inches. I am also yet to see him eat he seems to just somehow survive by not spending any energy all day.

The Ph in the water in 7.0 and the Nitrates and Amonnia are under control. Does anyone know if something is wrong with him or if this is natural behavior?

Thank You

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have ammonia or nitrite readings at all? Any reading for either of these is problematic. Iridescent sharks are schooling fish, especially when young, so that could be a source of the problem. They also don't really like bright lights and need well-oxygenated water with a decent current. They also grow to four feet in length (i.e. just as long as your tank) so unless you've got plans for a multi-thousand gallon tank, I would think about returning this fish and getting something that you can keep long-term (which you've got a huge variety of catfish to pick from in a 110g tank).
