Hi All Fishkeepers !

Im kinda new to the forums and had found some extremely useful hints and tips regarding fish keeping !!

I would love some feedback regarding my Panda's, I live in Hong Kong, I did use to live in the UK, but moved here for business, and for all you fish keepers fanatics out there Hong Kong is the place for cheap plants and cheap fish, they have their own street just full of freshwater and saltwater shops stocked up with all the plants and fishes known to man kind !!

I bought 6 Panda's yesterday and I usually offer these wafers for bottom fish feeders and IF they are lucky then leftover bloodworms !

I saw a thread someone mentioning Cucumbers but I just wanted to make extra sure before I drop any human edible contents in my tank !!

Hi and welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.

I have never tried fresh veggies for corys; a variety of prepared foods (sinking foods mandatory, like tablets, shrimp pellets, algae disks) will provide complete nutrition, and now and then frozen bloodworms or live worms. Most algae-type sinking foods contain shrimp or other non-veg matter so corys get their veggies by eating those.

Given that corys in their habitat eat worms, crustaceans and insect larvae, fresh veggies may not attract them. But others may have experience.

Thank you for the little feedback, this is what I love about these forums, someone out there who just loves to look after tropical fish as a hobby !! It's hard for me to find people within my friends who enjoys this hobby like myself ! and knowing you all on these forums are on the same wave lenght (Probably greater) as me, and knows what im talking about !!

After readin your post would it be advisable if I dropped a bit of cucumber in there ? As I had seen this done by watching a clip in off of youtube .. I know Youtube we cannot take seriously .. but just wanted a second opinon !!

You could certainly give it a shot. Corydoras mouthparts aren't really designed to eat vegetable matter like that, but in my experience my cories will "nibble" at veggies. However, I wouldn't leave vegetables in the tank for more than, say, 12 hours as they can start to rot and make quite a mess. You can try blanching them to make them sink or weighing them down with something like a paperclip.

Thanks for your kind feedback too , Can I also ask you by your meaning "Blanching" is this roughly for 10 mins just by simkply boiling it ??
