Love my cories! I love feeding time when the whole little army comes out to cruise the bottom of the tank.

I'm glad you're enjoying them as much as I do.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Possibly, but could also just be interaction. Corys are highly social fish, and I recall reading one author some years ago who likened their frequent tickling of one another wiith their barbels as ticklish kissing in humans. It is often a pre-spawning ritual, and i frequently observe it even between species in my 115g tank which has over 30 corys of 12 species. I have regular spawnings, a few fry sometimes survive and seem to be of one species, so I can't tell if the species actually cross-breed when I spot obvious cross-species behaviours.

The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. [unknown source]

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If youíre going to take it under your wing then youíre responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]
