My predator grow out tank

Hi all, Im new to the forum, and I just wanted to share with u guys my big fish/predator grow out/baby tank. I have a 2ft tank that my auntie gave to me, so I originally bought an Altolamprologus Calvus and an electric blue peacock. Any way I got rid of them, and now I have in it a 4 and a 1/2 inch Tandanus Tandanus, and a one inch fire mouth cichlid. Now, before people go off at me for housing a fish with a potential length of 3ft in this tank, its very temporary. Once it outgrows the baby tank, it will go into my mums 3x2x2 ft tank, that will give me time to save up for a 4ft tank, then once it out grows that, I would have had a part time job at my local lfs, so I will be able to afford a tank around the 6x2x2ft mark. If it ever outgrows that I can either buy an absolutely massive tank, or a pond. Im feeding them Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets, and Hikari Cichlid Pellets and Cichlid Flakes, supplemented regularly with peeled peas. Any feedback, tips, advice or experiences greatly appreciated. cheers

Eel tailed catfish to get anywhere near adult size and not die before that need a tank at least 12ft x 6ft x 6ft, they take about 5 years to get anywhere near this size.

Once the firemouth is smaller than the catfish, then it is in trouble. The catfish will see it as food.

Hate to be barer of bad news but the likelyhood of you getting a big tank even though you say you will, almost never happens. Taking into account the weight of such a tank, the cost of it etc.

They also need to be fed live food to keep them healthy, this includes small crustaceans, worms, aquatic insects and their larvae, molluscs, tadpoles, small fish, and snails.
jentralala and Flint like this.

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)

Dont worry, most aquarium specimens (being captive bred at aquaculture farms) max out at around 50cm (not quite 2ft). If it does get too big, Ill get it a pond. I know the fire mouth wont be able to be a permanant tank mate, but growing faster than the catfish, it will for at least a couple of years. I have been snorkelling in clear North Queensland rainforest rivers with them, so I know their kind of habitat and natural foods, they LOVE live shrimp. The biggest one I have seen in the wild was 60-65 cm, around 2ft. Trust me, I hate animal cruelty, so u can rest assured that this catfish (and the FM) will have the best care possible.

I'm not waiting that long, just until I get a bigger tank setup and cycled, and a pond sometime in the near future. Although I am going to get a 4ft+ tank for it when it needs it, until then I can keep it in the large pond that I'm getting. I'm getting a cutoff poly tank sometime in the near future, until then, it will reside in a 3ftx18inx18in tank. cheers, and dont worry, I'm not going to subject this fish (or any fish) to cramped conditions.
