my largest plec is now developing his barbs on his lip, i know he is a he because he has just started getting them going up his head, i wated to know if any1 can tell me how long it will be before he starts beeing able to breed......he defends the algea wafers from the other fish and is alway "defending" the coconut she i have in the tank.
welll ok shes too young yet but my male is defending the cave in my tank so he is ready .........i live in halifax so im not too far away from you so if then has babys il let you know and il sort some out for you
I am currently in the process of growing up some bushynosed plecos with the hope of one day breeding them. I am lucky enough to have a LFS that has a good breeder contact so they get them in the 1-1.5" size every few weeks and sell them for $8 (or sometimes cheaper because I am in there so much) the only problem now is the waiting so that I can sex them. I have always loved plecs so hopefully I will be breeding in a year or two.
They are still very small, but I believe (hope) they are L183 they look a lot like this even though thy are small.
yeah, I was looking at mine closely and I think it might be a cross because the pattern is exactly the same, but the colors aren't as vibrant. I guess I will find out when he gets bigger.
Yeah, probably! I'm emailing round all the LFS in the wider area to see if they can get any of the rarer types of BN, they're so pretty!
