My betta is up in my cories food.

Sometimes I try and feed him first, and while he's distracted I toss a wafer in. Any suggestions for keeping him from being in the vicinity, fins get nipped in these situations. What do I do?

Weird. I've never seen a betta really go after algae wafers or other sinking foods. But hey, bettas are pretty goofy fish so I can definitely picture one doing that. You could try feeding them at opposite ends of the tank (betta first). Cories are more active at night, while bettas are more active during the day, so you could also try dropping in the food for the cories right after you turn the lights out at night (and/or before you turn them on in the morning). This will give them a chance to eat without the betta bugging them.
