More than one pleco?

Hi all,

I've always heard that only one pleco should be kept in a tank at a time. I have a 75g and want to combine it with my 30g, but I have a bristlenose in each. On aqadvisor, two pleco in a tank seemed okay.

Any experience in this area?

Thanks
Stephanie

So long as both have ample place for each to rest at,some bog wood ,or driftwood, Caves, etc, then 75 gal should be able to support two Bristlenose.
Adult's of this species, sometimes squabble for resting area's, food's,and may be a bit rough if two males, so providing places for each is needed.
I have found that in tank's smaller than 30 gal,,that one Pleco is better.

Thanks 1077. They are both on the shy side as many plecos are, but I noticed that since I added six synodontis petricola to my 30 g with my older bristlenose, he has gotten a little more defensive with food (which is a good thing lol). But they are still tiny so they should manage. It's a heavily planted tank, too so that should offer lots of hiding spots in addition to the wood and stones.

Hi I have 4 in a 55 ranging in size from 4 inches to 12 inches. They get along fine I just make sure I feed them well and keep up on the water changes and filter cleaing. They poop a lot.
