Come on let's not argue - they're both beautiful and they're both big! :P

TBH I have never seen a plec bigger than a 12" common in person, or should I say in fish?. I love monster fish, but where to put them? Fish like that really don't belong in tanks unfortunately, unless you, say, convert the garage into just a big massive tank :D

I must be looking at a different thread, i see no argument here!

I wholeheartedly agree, people with the equipment to house these fish at adult size are few and far between, certainly in the case of the adonis you really need to be looking at a species only set up. Hammers home the point about the poor old common pleco as well, should not be sold the way it is, as a clean up tool for any size aquariums when in fact they outgrow most starter aqauriums. But then people get attached to them and believe that they can keep them in tanks too small and filtration that frankly cannot handle the bioload.

commons, balas, pangasius, rtc's etc, a crying shame :(

Good post Mike! I have 2 commons that i got off other people! Both where in tanks that where way to small for them! I know my 90 isn't going to be big enough for then for long, but it gives me a good reason to get a bigger tank too!

btw: what forum is that anyways?
