I'm trying to find some julii cories but everywhere I go they're sold out or there's only one and i would like a school. does anyone know where i could find some good quality ones online or at a store (texas)
btw. is there anyway you can tell the difference between leopards and juliis?? Since they easily get confused i don't want to get the wrong one.
Lupes, I see many C julii here along with the C. trilineatus.
When in tanks next to each other, their differences are pronounced. Many Corydoras are not imported anyway as there are mass breeders that distribute and sell them.
Thanks a million!! Now I know the difference I can know what i'm buying cause some of the pet stores i've been to, the people don't seem to know right from left! Any suggestions though on where to purchase some though???
Well... It's hard to say where to buy them, because I don't live in Texas and I've never ordered fish online, but I would suggest talking to your LFS and have them order a school of the c. Julii for you. That seems easiest, in my opinion.
I was in a local LFS (I'm in Michigan) and it's very possible that's what I saw but it was a couple weeks ago and I didn't know the difference yet. They were labled julii though and this isn't the type of store to steer you wrong.
Cories R Us is sold out of Juliis at the moment. Being the middle of the rainy season in the southern hemisphere, I expect they will be out of most of their wild stock until late winter.
Thanks alot for the websites and info, it was extremely helpful!!
Everywhere I looked both stores nearby and online I cannot find and julii catfish. My LFS had some but i was not impressed with the fish, people, and their envrionment. seeing dead fish floating on the top and the store people not knowing what to do was a huge turn off.
as for online dealers, i found a website called twofishguyz.com that sold dwarf catfish $2 each since dwarf catfish were my alternative. as anyone bought from or heard about this webiste?? If so, please advice me if iI should go ahead and purchase some, i could really use some help since i've never bought fish online before!
I have purchased fish from twofishguyz and have no complaints. They were a bit late with one order due to moving their fish room or rooms to different location. But they sent an extra three fish to make up for the delay.
Aquabid.com is great as well. Coryologist is a member of this site and he breeds and sells his fish on there sometimes.
