So about two or three weeks ago I bought a little Raphael Catfish for my african cichlid tank. I ran across them in a YouTube video and did a bit if research and decided he would have a fighting chance. Fido, as we have started calling him, is doing fantastic! He isn't as shy as what I expected. He knows when feeding time is and he's out every day twice a day for it. I feed him sinking shrimp pellets along with some blanched veggies every once in a while. I was a bit worried when we added a blue crayfish to the tank (it's a 60g) but strangely enough they get along pretty well. Most days the eat side by side as long as there are enough pellets to go around. Today though, the crayfish attempted to steal Fido's pellet, and I guess he grabbed the little spines all down Fido's back because the crayfish took off. I don't think we'll have anymore disputes between them lol. I just wanted to let you guys know, just incase anyone is on the fence about getting one, I definitely recommend this little guy.

I did some research on them previously (I was looking for a cute bottom dweller/algae eater) I thought they were adorable, but sadly doesn't seem to be well suited for my 29 gallon guppy tank ;)

Oh wow. That sounds like such a great deal. I've heard of people getting tanks on freecycle.org but so far haven't found any myself (not that my parents would let me get another one :) Ebay Classifieds has had some fish tanks but not any amazing deals that i've seen.

well the Ebay Classifieds are kinda like craigslist. But I guess. I still can't say anything about the quality or reliability of the items though :) And I don't know about freecycle either, but hey its free :p
