How delicate are Oto Cats?

I've been considering adding 2 oto cats to my 6g aquarium. I'm concerned with some info I've read as to how sensitive they are to water quality and even travelling home from the store.
My plan was to quarantine them for a while, but I only have a little betta container, not a proper tank.
Will the otos be ok in a tank without filtration etc? How long should I quarantine them? I was also thinking of adding a general purpose medication to ensure they are clear of any problems. Any suggestions as to what to use in the QT?

The only tropical fish that is commonly kept that will survive without filtration is the betta as far as I know. I doubt that otos would be very comfortable in a tank without filtration if they lived very long.

yeah otos wont be able to survive. alot of fish need filters. so yeah.

My 6g tank is an Eclipse with filtration, so their permanent home will be suitable. It was just whether or not they'd be ok for a short while in a quarantine tank without filtration. I also wanted to use meds so that the quarantine would be as short as possible, still wondering how long would be sufficient?
I don't think any fish should be kept without filtration. My betta has the run of the Eclipse tank right now, hence why i'm thinking of some tankmates.

yeah sponge filters are pretty neat. i almost got one myself.

Well all I can say is this. I could not keep otos alive until my tank was well over 8 months old and they never lived more than 3 weeks in my tank even when it was cycled properly and had other fish living in it happily.

I won't buy them ever again for a tank less than 6 months old with lots of live plants and I would not quarantine them in one that wasn't as old either.
