They produce less waste and don't need the swimming room that an active fish like a guppy needs.

Your welcome but just think of the needs of the fish. You can keep a fish happy and healthy or keep losing your group of fish because they are in an improper environment. Good luck!

Sorry to hear :(

But at least now you know that it wasn't a good environment for him. Hard lesson to learn but a lot of us had to learn these things the hard way.

I'm sorry you lost him but I hope you can return your other cory and guppies and get a wonderful new betta friend. They are rewarding fish with a huge personality. (:

For future reference, you can cull fish a few ways. The most child-friendly ways are either an overdose of clove oil or putting a cup of water in the freezer until a layer of ice forms on top, then placing the fish in the container and walking away (their muscles don't react well and while the fish is deceased, it looks distressed so it is best not to return to the room for a few minutes.)
