Help quick i need help now!!!

HELP I'm scared!!!! i went to check on my fish tank yesterday and my albino cory was on its side breathing VERY slowly!!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS DEAD T . T Mom said to let the life cycle work and see what happens in the morning i first tested water, the ammonia was 1 it was a spike IDK how i cycled the tank, so i immediately did a 20% water change and went to bed( this was at 11pm) i woke up he is UPSIDE DOWN but his gills were barely moving IDK what to do !!!!!!!!!:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock: help pls

I'm sorry you lost him but I hope you can return your other cory and guppies and get a wonderful new betta friend. They are rewarding fish with a huge personality. :)

For future reference, you can cull fish a few ways. The most child-friendly ways are either an overdose of clove oil or putting a cup of water in the freezer until a layer of ice forms on top, then placing the fish in the container and walking away (their muscles don't react well and while the fish is deceased, it looks distressed so it is best not to return to the room for a few minutes.)
