Help with my cories....they're not all friends!

I have 1 False Julii Cory, 1 Swartz Cory and 3 Agassizi Cories. The False plays by himself and sometimes with one of the Agassizi. The Swartz and other 2 Agassizi don't come out from the caves! I never see them unless I open the lid and look around. The False is my fav since he's always out and chasing himself up and down the glass. The Swartz used to play before I got the Agassizi. Is there any type of limit on how many cories I can get? I know I should keep them in groups of 6 with 2 differant species in the tank but I don't really have a lfs that I can take fish to for trade. Do I have to call Petsmart place to take the Swartz and get more Juliis? I really don't want to deal with them although I found one that the kid who works there, he can't be more than 20, really seems to know his stuff. Yes, I played the dumb blond to see how he answered a few questions!!

How large is your tank? Are the cories all you are keeping in it? If it were me, I would trade the swartz for more juliis. But I'm with you about Petsmart - I don't buy there unless I have no other options. Maybe your lfs would take the swartz as donation. You probably wouldn't get much for a single swartz anyway....

It's a 55g and I'm going to be getting apistos, South American Cichlids. It's heavily planted and will have a bunch of rock in there once I get myself together and get my pleco out of the tank.

Perhaps someone would take your Schwartz if you posted him on craigslist. Plus, it gives you the choice to approve the home, so you know he's going to a tank where he'll get proper care :)

I think my Julii and Swartz have made friends with eachother!! I woke up this morning and found eggs all over the place, maybe 20 total, with those two swimming together like crazy. I suppose they're going to find a way to get happy in the tank on thier own!!! LOL

I've heard that Schwart are very difficult to breed, and that there aren't any recorded cases of it happening in captivity. However, if it did happen, that's awesome! Keep us posted? I'd love to find out who those eggs turn out to be from.
