Cat's don't generally eat algae; I suggest you remove the cause of your alage rather then getting some fish 'against algae growth'
Cory's for example need to be in groups of 8+ and either live on sand (ideal) or fine and non sharp edged gravel) and the appropriate tank size for a group of them.
If the aquarium has (cycled) and ammonia,nitrites ,,read zero each day ,all day, I might look at Ruby barbs not Rosy barbs. They would happily consume alage to a degree, and also appreciate mulm found on substrate in mature tanks. Mulm should not be confused with fish waste.
Kept a group of these with tiger barbs and they appeared to get along .
