I LOVE the glass cats. I have a solid group of 5. They're really funny with their personalities, 3 will always school and switch between a few different locations, while the 2 others pretty much stick to the same spot.

I got really nervous when one day I found that one seemed to have a stroke or something, he was bent in the spine badly (water quality is great, with no other sickness at all in the tank ever). That fish since then recovered somehow, he isn't bent anymore, but now he's so much more active and inquisitive than before. He'll swim about scoping out his surroundings, then swim back to his other two friends. Maybe he had a brain trauma and lost his schooling urge, if thats at all possible??

Another funny thing: when I feed them blood worms with the turkey baster the two more active will swim straight up at the tube and wait for the worms, while the third seems to actually dislike bloodworms. They will float and hit his head and his barbels will touch the worm smelling it over and over again, but he wont eat them. He'll go crazy for flakes though.

I could go on all day about the glass cats!

I've been reading that the two species

Kryptopterus bicirrhis • Siluridae • Cat-eLog • PlanetCatfish
and
Kryptopterus minor • Siluridae • Cat-eLog • PlanetCatfish

can be easily confused in the hobby. I'm wondering if maybe I've got two different species?
