Cories don't really shoal together regardless of the species. They will simply come along in pairs, trios or groups but nothing of the sort would be considered shoaling.

gah wrong word...meant as in since they like groups they shouldnt be lonely or anything?

Best to keep larger groups of the same species, than single fish or pairs of all different species.
