I would add 3 more for a school of 6. Some cories will school with other kinds, but IME it is more likely that they will stick in separate groups which kind of defeats the purpose of getting more anyway. I would stick with just the emerald greens.

20 gallon long: 3 adult Neolamprologus similis + about 11 fry of various ages; low light planted tank
20 gallon long:2 freshwater dwarf puffers (Puff Puff and Poofer); medium-light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Wormy; low light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Dante; low light planted tank
2, 5.5 gallon tanks that are currently empty (I see more fish on the horizon )

Everything I have read about these cory cats is that they do school with breed and generally do not cross breed school. Too bad because to get one of several kinds and have them school in your tank would be awesome!

A fish that will school with pretty much any kind of cory is a clown loach, if you wanna call it schooling. Clowns are all over the place but mine does actually chill with my cory cats from time to time.

Keep in mind that clown loaches get a heck of a lot bigger than cories and need a very large tank to accommodate a decent-sized group of them. However, even when they're really big the loaches will still school with the cories, so if you've got a really big tank it would be pretty neat.

Clown loaches can get to be 12"+. A school of them will require several hundred gallons.

The local fish store in my neighborhood keeps six aprox. 8inch clown loaches in a 125 gal with discus. I would think that would be the smallest size tank for that number. you could put a ton of corys in there as well.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

That would probably be the bare minimum and it'll be cramped as they start to max out.

I should have been more specific about the clown loach when I made mention of them. I'll be honest, in part it is a ploy on my part to have an excuse to get a several hundred gallon tank in a year or so.

If you have a 40g+ tank now though, like I do, you could house a couple of these loaches as long as you plan on expanding your tank when they get to be 5-6" in size.

All that I have read about the fish is that they grow pretty slow so if you start with them small, you'll almost have to unless you want to shell out serious money to buy one of any size, you can enjoy them for a while in a smaller tank size.

If my plan backfires and I am not able to get a much larger tank, there is always the local fish store who would love to buy a 6" clown from me or give me credit for him.
