Confused. Question on cories

I'm confused. Are cories supposed to be in warmer water? Or do they do best in an unheated tank? I was under the impression they were in warmer tanks, but a pet store I went into had them in unheated tanks. Now I'm really confused!
Please help clear the confusion!

That will depend on different species. Some prefer warmer waters whereas others prefer cooler waters like the panda cories.
