The immediate answer is yes, from an aggression point of view, they should go well together.

However, Red Tail Catfish grow much faster than you would ever imagine. They simply have no place in an aquarium. They need a minimum tank size of a 400-600 gallons to be kept long term with any kind of success. To make it worse, nobody wants to take them off your hands when they outgrow your tank. Public aquariums won't take them. The Zoo doesn't want them. And it is rare to find anyone with a sufficient size aquarium that would even consider Red Tail Catfish an enjoyable fish to keep.

Additionally, they will eat almost any tankmates and pollute the water to huge degree, requiring a tremendous amount of aquarium care and very large DAILY water changes.

I could go on and on about this. Of all the fish offered for sale in the freshwater aquarium hobby, only the Snakehead is a less responsible purchase.

You should consider buying one of the dozens of catfish that can be kept long term in an aquarium. Perhaps a Zebra or a Royal Pleco would be of interest to you?
