Columbian Shark

I have had my columbian shark for about 18 months. At first he did not grow to large. I moved him to a much larger tank. He now sits in a 45 gallon tank. He has grown a bit since his move. He is now around 8" long. He is not a long fish but boy is he fat. The thing im wondering is that in the last two weeks he has been staying in one spot. He looks heathy but he does not swim how he use to. I have been adding a little bit of salt to his tank. He looks healthy but does not act the same. Any ideas?

hi there
is it because it's the only one ?
i have seen information, that they should have
brackish conditions as they get older,
but that;s about all i can say,sorry.
hope someone comes up with the answer for you.

hi
aww what a shame, maybe he does need a friend,
but you'll have to get one the same size will you
or he might eat a smaler one ?

I do not think he will eat a smaller one, he has been kept with much smaller catfish. I think that may what i have to do.
What catfish did you keep him with? I was under the impression the serrated spines most catfish have can prevent him from preying on them. What other fish do you have? What are your water parameters? What foods are you providing him?
