clown pleco

can anyone tell me if clown plecs go by any other common name? a lot of sites i go onto that seem to have every plec under the sun dont have clown plecs. what is the max length they will grow to? 6"?

it is sometimes called the ringlet plec and sometimes the tiger plec ( i think)

thanks for that link. it says that they sometime slike to eat yams. this is something i have wondered for many years - what is a yam? is it some sort of american vegetable or fruit? if so can you get them in britain? i am clueless

A yam is a sweet potato. You may also want to try fresh zucchini, fresh spinach, or fresh peas. Do not use canned veggies as many contain preservatives and salt (lots and lots of salt).

thanks for that. a sweet potato? haha, id never have guessed that! in order to save myself looking stupid again i did a wee search - turns out a zuchini is just a courguette lol

i know clown plecs need driftwood, do i need to soak this first even though its bought from a pet shop? if so for how long?

technically a yam is not 100% a sweet potato, there are differences (although they taste the same, bad) i think there both similar but different
