Ok, so I have a ten gallon and assuming they survive until Saturday when I clean my tank again, two otto cats. My question is how to go about cleaning the tank with them in there, they blend into the color gravel I have, extremely well, and I'm worried about accidently smushing one or sucking one up when I syphon. =/ The other fish usually just huddle together and stay outta the way. Any suggestions?
Just gently hover the siphon above the gravel so if there is an otto cat there they will take off. Just don't be to aggressive with the vac and you'll be good. The fish know to swim away... Hahaha most of the time
If you want, you could always put a net over the top of your siphon, but that would take away from its functionability, what with not cleaning up all the excrement and left-overs
