Greetings All. I recently had this fish's ID verified as C054. Additionally, after keeping a reverse trio of these for almost 6 years, I have my first spawn from these, with about 18 fry hatching, yesterday and a few more viable looking eggs to go. I have been told this is the first recorded spawning of the specie. I wonder how many times they spawned over the years and I never knew it? lol. A truly lovely fish, though. - Frank
Hi. Well, I'm going to the catfish convention this weekend. Should they survive until I return, they will be ready for their 10 day pics, right around then. Fingers, crossed. - Frank
Hi. Sadly, I must report that none survived. They will do it again, though. Here is one of my new, very rare beauties. Just a snapshot until I can get a better pic. - Frank
Aww, I'm really very sorry to hear that. Better luck next time though
The areio is a lovely looking cory, I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of them. You take such clear pictures of your corys, they're always lovely to look at and beautiful fish.
Yes, good luck! It's still very exciting that they even spawned and the eggs hatched though. And they do seem to be a very rare species, I couldn't find anything on them, even planet catfish was blank.
I have to ask, have you had any success breeding c. schwartzi?
