BN Pleco with a blotchy patch on back.

I've has a bristlenose pleco in my 29g tank for a little over a month now, and he's been just fine up until the past few days. He's acting funny... not coming out to eat a algae wafer like he used to, and he has a "blotchy" patch on his back where his skin is lighter than the rest of his skin. Could he be stressed? Does he need a cave that would be a tight fit for him to squeeze into... like some PVC pipe or somethin?

29 Gallon Tank
7 Zebra Danios (1 is actually a red glofish)
7 Serpae Tetras
7 Emerald Green Corydoras

20 Gallon Tank
2 Albino African Clawed Frogs
Anywhere between 0 and 8 feeder guppies

15 Gallon Tank
Lots of Trumpet Snails.
1 Assassin Snail
2 Female Guppies
1 Male Guppies

Pics coming soon in tank profiles.

My guess is that something in the tank has stressed him. How big is he? BN plecs have patches on there skin that can be lightened and darkened to fit into there environment, but sometimes they trigger these pigment changes when stressed. Posting a pic as well as you tank conditions and water parameters would help.
