albino corydoras

hi
would any one be able to comfirm my thinking ?
i have three albino corydoras, and they have stayed the small
size that they were when i bought them.1inch,
in my other tank i have peppered corydoras
and one has stayed at just 1inch since
i got them,the others are 2in.
would these be males by any chance ?
is it comfirmed that the female is the one that holds eggs ?
TIA :)

Males are usually a bit smaller but I wouldn't say half the size.

When you say holds the eggs, do you mean carries the eggs on the fins and the deposits them during spawning? If so then yes, that is a female.

Maybe, LOL, or he could just be a bit younger. It's rarely possible to tell the age of a fish.

Sorry. I misunderstood. I thoguht there was only one that was small.

If they were all bought at the same size then it could just be that your smaller ones are males though I have never seen such a large difference in sizes between the sexes. I know I have a mix because they have spawned and had fry, but I have difficulty telling them apart because the differences are slight.

Maybe you'll get some fry yourself soon then! :)

My male albino bronzes (and I know they are the males, because they were the ones chasing the one that had the eggs clamped in her ventral fins) are about half the size (in volume) of my females. A bet more than half as long, though.
