my pleco often has white patches. if it just looks like his colour has faded a little, sometimes they do that according to their mood. if it it raised, however, it could b fungus but fungus is usually a secondary infection. keep a close eye on him to see if the patches change back to his normal colour, if they do, he is fine!
Well, plecos will alter color to match that of their environment. Depending on their background, my plecos will get pronounced white spots, some up to 7mm in diameter.
One of my plecs develops lighter patches sometimes. I'm not sure if it has to do with her mood, or just times where she's feeling a bit poorly or whatever but there have never been any visible health conditions when the lighter patches appear, and they usually don't stay about long.
How long does your plec have these patches for? If they're not permanent, I wouldn't worry.
Its really weird I lifted up his hiddy hole and found him covered in those realy flakey white patches neally over his whole body along side him was a bunch of orange eggs, i took out the eggs, and now all the white patches have gone and he looks normal. This all happend in a period of 2-3 hours. STRANGE!!!!
ahhhh there ya go then!!! u gonna have some babies!
