55g for a catfish?

Hey guys. Would you guys happen to know all the catfish that would be content in a 55g? As well as small community cats -or- LARGE SINGLE TANK SPECIMEN CATS?

There are too many to name. Not all are compatible with others of course. You could go through our profiles.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Someone might be able to offer suggestions if we knew your water parameters and such. You could narrow your selection this way as it would be easier on the fish if they were in their natural habitats hardness and such.

20 Gallon Planted Guppy tank. Amazon Sword, Dwarf Hairgrass, Cardinalis.
55 Gallon -1 BN Pleco, 1 High Fin Syndontis, 1 Oto, ~18 Kenyi Cichlids

Any of the Corydoras would be good in a 55G. You should have enough room on the bottom of the tank for the 5 minimum for the corys. They hit 4" maximum depending on the species.

For profiles look on the blue bar near top of the page and see tropical fish profiles. There is a section of "Catfish" look around it has the tank size requirements, along with diet and other behaviors you need to know about.

Another thought is to go to the catfish specific forum and look around for posts when you see a interesting thread look around. I know Bryon talked about a Farrowolla (spelling) catfish and I looked it up curious about it.
