Saying Goodbye to Gobymon

Sadly, we are re-homing our 15" Brackish Violet Dragon Goby tomorrow to a nice person with a larger brackish tank. When we got Gobymon, almost a year ago from a teenager, he was about 6" long with fin rot, mouth fungus and was not eating. I am not blaming the teenager, he was doing what he thought was best, but the Dragon fish was being kept in Aquarium Salt.

After slowly acclimating Gobymon to the beginning stage of brackish water and treating his ailments, he is sporting 15" and an awesome appetite for bloodworms!

Gobymon will be joining other brackish tank mates in a 330 gallon show tank, with appropriate separation of course, since by nature their itty bitty eyes are almost blind and they will not thrive if they have a hard time finding their food.

We will miss Gobymon, but it is great to know another wonderful fish lover will be taking excellent care of him and he is excited to have this awesome fish in his show tank!

Here he is...

What you did for Gobymon is really wonderful, and it sounds like he is going to a really nice new home :)

20 gallon long: 3 adult Neolamprologus similis + about 11 fry of various ages; low light planted tank
20 gallon long:2 freshwater dwarf puffers (Puff Puff and Poofer); medium-light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Wormy; low light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Dante; low light planted tank
2, 5.5 gallon tanks that are currently empty (I see more fish on the horizon )

Kim thank you very much. The new owner was a few days late picking up Gobymon but came by today and was very excited to have him! I get attached to every fish we have, especially the ones that we rescue, a few tears were shed today as Gobymon was leaving :(... but I know he will be well cared for and will enjoy the extra space in that big tank.

I'm glad your goby.. Dude.. Found a better life! What a weird fish, is he blind like that?
Take it from a teenager, a lot of fish bought by teenagers end up in crappy homes forever. :/

taking a break from fish-keeping.
3 lovely male betta still keep me company.

Or more by people who give fish as presents. Who gives an animal as a present?? Unless you have talked to that person about something like that (organized in advance), its better to buy stuff for the animal. Like a perch for a cat or something like that.
