Question a quick question on puffers

okay so i have a 30 gallon brakish tank around (1.005-08 because they are babies, they will have more salinity every couple of weeks) set up for my 2 baby gsp fish i am getting ( i know they will need more room and i am getting a 90 gallon tank in a year 1/2 for when they get bigger) the tank im guessing will be done cycling in around 5 days, there are plenty of hiding spots and fake plants to cut off the view of eachother.

the gsp im getting were sadly in freshwater in a tiny 5 gallon tank with about 9 of them:( ( i know not good conditions but there the only ones around i can get because my parents wont let me order online)

is it okay if i split a cycled 5 gallon tankfreshwater tank so 2.5 each for them for a week quaritine ( it would be more room then they had at the store) i plan to treat them for their torn fins and any other problems i see with them. and then slowly in that tank bring up their salinity. they will be getting snails and blackworms for the week in the quartine tank, and then i will put them in their new tank

I realize this is an older post, and you've probably already got the fish and everything. But for future reference, you don't need to quarantine the fish if there are no fish in the main tank and the fish came from the same store.
