mono sebae question?

I bought a pair of mono sebaes from the local pet store and put them into my 50gal Fresh Water community tank. This was about 8 Months ago i just learnd today that they are brackish water fish ( pet store failed to mention) is this bad for them? did they just get used to fresh water? They seem to be happy so im assuming that there ok. just wanted to get another opinion.

As they get older they prefer brackish water and they breed in full salt water. I have a 5 inch Sabae in fresh and one of my local pet stores keeps a larger one in their african cichlid show tank. I would prepare for moving them to brackish water in the long term though.
