Guppies and? bottom feeders?

Hi all, new here. I'm also new at keeping fish, so please pardon my dumb "newbie" questions!

I have a 10 gallon tank with 5 guppies. I put 2 Tbs of aquarium salt and the guppies seem to be very happy. I've had them for about 3 weeks.

Here's my question: My son would like a bottom feeder, but I'm getting the message that they do not like brackish water, except ones that get too big. Are there certain types of catfish or bottoms feeders in general that can tolerate brackish water? The man at the pet store said that most of the catfish "may" tolerate it but you're taking a risk. Are some types better at aclimating than others?

Red face you don't need salt!

Guppies are not brackish water fish! They may look like they like salt (as do swordtails), but it is unnecesary to add salt. You can if you want to, I guess, but it isn't necessary at all. As for any bottom feeders that might fit in a 10 gallon tank, I'm not sure. You may want to look at cories, but they need schools of 5 or 6 to stay generally happy. You could try, but... I'm not too sure. But my point is, you don't need salt for guppies. Hope I helped, and don't forget to thank me if I did!
