green spotted tank mates

I'm going to get a green spotted sometime in the next few months - I've heard all the stories of what belligerent tank-mates they are...

But I've also heard stories of people keeping fast/feisty fish with them successfully,

Is anyone out there doing so successfully? At the moment my best contenders are a small school of bumblebee gobies...I was thinking about balloon mollies because of their brackish parameters, but I think they'd be too slow? I thought about tiger barbs too for temperament, but I don't know how they'd do with the salinity...

Thanks,

Jonathan

Absolutely no with the tiger barbs. Green spotted puffers eventually need something close to full marine salinity and tiger barbs are freshwater-only fish. Green spotted puffers are notoriously aggressive fish so anything you keep with them is likely to be something of a gamble. Bumblebee gobies and mollies would probably get eaten. If you had a very large tank, you might have success with a school of monos, as they're both large and quick-moving and like the green spotted puffer, eventually need essentially full marine salinity.

As the post above suggested Mono's could be a good option. I had some Mono's that i kept with my puffers and they didnt seem to bother each other at all. they got along fine.

I have read before that puffers can sometimes suddenly change personality at a certain point in their ageing, but mine never turned on the Mono's or the Archers.

Question Your boundaries
