Can a goldfish live in brackish conditions?

Hi, everyone! I have a common Goldfish and his name is Edward. I was wondering if he could live in brackish water. The temperature won't bother him, but I don't know if the salt will.

a Goldfish lives in water with a ph thats almost neutral at 7.0 or in a range of 6.8-8.0.they prefer soft water at a temp 0f 10-25 celcius. a brakish tank has a salinity level of SG1.002 and is not suitable for gold fish .you might have read this fishes are hardy and can be kept in water thats a little hard but i wouldn't want to do that know with proper care they can live up to 40 years.also your fish needs at least 20 gallons to it self as the give out a lot of waste both in their feces and gills.

Thanks kitten_penang!So what's wrong with the salinity level? Why wouldn't the conditions be okay for my Goldfish? His tank is already kept at a high temp and I'm not sure about the PH level. But id the PH was higher than normal would the brackish water be okay?

ph,salinity and temp are tottaly different things. ph is how alkaline,acidic or neutral the water is.salinity is how much salt content is in the water and temp well you know already what temp is. for example a Goldfish in a fw tank with a ph of 7.0 can't live in a marine tank with a ph of 7.0 just because it has the right ph. they need all 3 plus a good maintained tank large enough to house them to be healthy and live well. brakish water is in the middle of fw and sw and are meant only for certain species unless time is given in producing a fish that has a high tolerance to salt which should be gradually as in many generations and not a few days in a week.
