guys !
i need some helpful info about brackish water tank . im in process of cycling my BW tank , i plan to keep in there green spotted puffer. So far i got 3 black mollies to help it with cycle . my questions are : how long would it take to get my tank cycled ? should i make regular water changes while cycling? if so , how much ? Or should i add only water after some is evaporated ? how can i lower salinity if its too high?

thanks in advance

The big theme, lately, has been the amount of time it takes a tank to cycle. There is no answer etched in stone. The will be cycled when the tank is cycled. IT can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 weeks. The tank will tell you when it is ready. I've said this before and I'' probably say it 1000 more times. BE PATIENT. The tank will tell you when it is ready. Just keep testing.

I believe you put it best in telling me "Cycling best friend is a good liquid regeant test kit, and a good barber to fix your hair after you pulled half of it out." LOL

I'd say not to so much worried about when it will be cycled as when it will be cycled and established enough for a puffer to be comfortable. Three months minimum, 6 months better. Get your mollies good and established, but in enough to max out the tank, then worry about the puffer in June or July. (Give away the mollies when you add the puffer/s)
