hi im setting up a brackish water tank and i deffanenty want a fresh water flounder because there my favorite fish.i will be adding sand so i also want to nowho to clean sand.
i read on the internet at http://aqualandpetsplus.com
that you can keep them with rope fish but that sounded a littel off.
I have a freshwater flounder in my brackish tank. Very cool fish. I have not kept Rope Fish. I have read of them being kept in brackish, but most times I read they are fresh water. There seems to be some confusion in their care requirements. I don't believe they would harm each other, just not sure if their salt level requirements match.
well rope fish are brackish look under odd balls to find the freshwater flounder on http://aqualandpetsplus.com
i also wuold like to now what fish they could live with besides bumble bee and dragon gobies.
this is what aqualand said Tank Mates. Feel free to mix these guys with other medium-sized brackish water fishes – African butterflies, dragon gobies, African ropefish (if your flounder’s too big to swallow), mollies, and other livebearers (because they like salt also). Livebearers also provide additional live food periodically. i thouth that they liked it colder too cold for ropefish and live bearers at least
