Hello. I just think the archer is the cutest fish in brackish tank history (definately on my top 10 out of every aquarium fish). I just wanted to ask afew questions about the archer fish;
How big do they get?
Are they aggressive towards other fish?
Are there any special requirements for keeping this fish?
What is the minimum tank size (very short budget)?
Sorry for asking these questions but right now I am grounded from all other sites.
I have actually done some research saying that they prefer live insects. Oops. I don't want to run to my closest petsmart (55 minutes away) every thursday just to feed this guy. I'd rather not get an archer now.
I love Archer fish and find them to be fascinating. At one time I toyed with the idea of getting some as I have seen them at one of my LFS. I think there are a couple species of archers but the more commonly sold one (Toxotes jaculatrix) get to about 6" each and I believe they prefer to be in groups (or at least a pair). I would use a 55 gallon tank for them. Maybe some day I'll try my hand at a brackish tank.
